Jason Stajkowski

Calgary Hockey Development Centre President/Director of Goaltending

Jason Stajkowski’s journey as a goalie is marked by dedication and diverse experiences. He began his minor hockey in Thunder Bay before embarking on a junior career that included playing seasons in Manitoba and the inaugural SIJHL season back in Thunder Bay.

Transitioning from player to leadership, Jason served as General Manager of the Thunder Bay Bulldogs Jr. A hockey club for two seasons and later as assistant coach/GM of the U16 Thunder Bay AAA Kings.

His path eventually led him west to Vancouver Island and, three years ago, to Cochrane, where he now proudly resides with his family.

 

 

Taylor Aronovich

With over 12 years of experience in customer service and working with children, Taylor brings a deep love for sports and a passion for people, business, and creativity. As the Office and Business Manager at HDC, Taylor oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations and is a key point of contact for families and clients.

Bryn Argue

Director of Hockey Operations

The Calgary Hockey Development Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryn Argue to Director of Hockey Operations.

Bryn will be tasked with heading up all on-ice and off-ice development programming and delivery. 

Bryn’s fun, innovative and positive teaching style builds confidence in young players and makes it very easy for the players to absorb information and to implement it in game situations more frequently. 

 

Jarvis Bender

Director of Hockey Development

Jarvis has been coaching in Calgary and surrounding area for over the past 10 years working with Athletes of all ages and levels.

He has spent time working with organizations like the Calgary Royals, Northstars, Bow Valley Timberwolves, Trails West and Cochrane Generals ranging from the U13 to Junior levels.

Jarvis is passionate and enjoys helping players work on their fundamentals and help improve their game. 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Veillet

Instructor/Coach/SR Hockey School Instructor

Ryan Veillet boasts an extensive and decorated hockey career, including time with Waldorf University, BCEHL U18, PIJHL, and Thompson Rivers University in the BCIHL during the 2015-16 season.

Renowned for his on-ice achievements, Ryan has earned multiple hockey awards and recognition throughout his career.

He has also shared his expertise by coaching and instructing private lessons and camps across BC & AB, nurturing the next generation of hockey talent.

 

Dean Fedorchuk

Development Coordinator/Coach Mentor/Program Consultant

Dean has a very decorated hockey background. He played NCAA Division 1 University Hockey, where he was an All-America and Hobey-Baker finalist. He played professionally for 14 years and then went into coaching, becoming a scout for the Winnipeg Jets from 2011 to 2013.

Dean has worked with many different teams all over North America and Europe both in coaching and management including NHL, KHL, Swiss Elite, Sweden and Germany. Along with his coaching, Dean also operated his own hockey development program for 25 years.

We are excited to add Dean to the HDC staff where he will be developing new on-ice and off-ice programs. Along with that, he will also be assisting our coaches by sharing his skills and knowledge. 

 

Tessa Lowry

Instructor/Coach

Tessa played with Girls Hockey Calgary AAA programs and Edge School U18 prep program. She spent 4 years playing NCAA DIII hockey for The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.

In the past she has spent time running spring and summer camps while completing high school at Edge School in Calgary. These experiences are where she found the love for coaching the next generation of young athletes.

Throughout her studies she has been an assistant coach with the U15 AA Calgary Fire and U18 AA Calgary Fire, where they won provincials that season.

For the past 3 years she has been assistant coach to the Sait Torjans Women's Hockey team.

 

 

Bergen Lucas

Instructor/Coach

Bergen started her hockey journey in her hometown of Calgary, playing with the McKnight Mustangs boys teams growing up. She went on to play U18 AA hockey in Lethbridge, Alberta, before continuing her career in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where she spent two years playing ACHA Division 2 women’s hockey. During her time there, her team won back-to-back national championships, losing only two games across both seasons.

As a coach, Bergen has worked with players of all ages and skill levels. Alongside working at HDC, she works at perfect skating red deer teaching elite programs focused on skating technique and small area movements.

Bergen brings her championship experience and passion for player development to every session, helping athletes grow both on and off the ice.

 

Brad Boomer

Instructor/Coach

With 22 years of coaching experience across all levels—from Tier 4 to AAA—Brad brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the bench. Over the past 7 seasons in the PHL, he’s led teams to major success, including a PHL Championship and a Provincial Title in minor hockey.

Brad also has extensive experience with hockey schools, specializing in skills development and injury prevention—giving players the tools they need to elevate their game safely and effectively.

 

Trevyn Irvine

Instructor/Coach

Trevyn Irvine recently finished his competitive hockey career after playing at a high level in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with the North Shore Warriors. He began playing hockey at the age 9 and spent the last decade developing a strong understanding of the game through experience, discipline, and a genuine love for hockey. Throughout his journey, Trevyn had the opportunity to be recruited by several Junior A programs, including teams from the BCHL and USHL, before getting injured and choosing to shift his focus toward education and mentorship.

Trevyn is currently studying business at Mount Royal University and working with Trailblazers hockey advising group, where he’s gaining experience in player development and career guidance. 

As a coach, Trevyn believes in building strong habits and creating an environment where kids can enjoy the process of learning and growing. Helping kids not only develop the skills needed but also gain a deeper understanding of the game, as they carry forward with their hockey careers.

 

Andrew Guss

Instructor/Coach


Andrew’s hockey journey began with the Simons Valley Hockey Association. As he progressed into bantam, he joined the North Stars program, playing at both the AA and AAA levels throughout his bantam and midget years. After that, he spent a season playing Junior hockey in British Columbia before returning home to focus on school and join the Cochrane Generals.

Andrew played three seasons with the Generals, and in his first year, helped get the team to provincials. After wrapping up his playing career, Andrew’s deep passion and understanding of the game earned him a spot on the coaching staff. He was named Assistant Coach the following season and continues to coach and scout with the Generals today.

Most recently, Andrew expanded his coaching to younger age groups, working with the 2011 and 2015 Bandits teams this past spring. His love for the game is clear in the way he connects with players and those around the rink.
